PJ Library Day of Service at the Farm

Tu B'Shevat celebrates our connection to and responsibility for nature, while MLK Day recognizes our connection to and responsibility for each other. This year, we mark both days on January 17, a fitting reminder that we should always give voice to those living things who cannot always speak up for themselves. Join us at Unity Farm Sanctuary as we participate in an act of service and give back to our own local communities. Please bring a donation of fresh fruit (bananas, clementines, oranges, apples or grapes). Start the day by creating and decorating fruit snack bags that will be donated to the Newton Community Fridge, a free refrigerator organized by the Newton Food Pantry. Then we will take a hike into the woods, enjoy a fruit Seder in the treehouse, and explore the different food preferences between ourselves and the animals at the farm. Cost is free but registration is required. For more information contact jccfamilies2@jccgb.org. In case of inclement weather, you will be contacted the day of the event. JCC Greater Boston is proud to offer diverse programming serving populations that are still considered to be at risk, or are not yet able to be vaccinated. Masks are not required in outdoor spaces. Our code of conduct still requires that you stay home if you are feeling unwell and/or have been exposed to COVID-19 and are not vaccinated. Regardless of your vaccination status if you prefer to wear a mask, you are welcome to do so.
